Tricks To Get Your Baby’s Best Christmas Photo

Tricks to have your baby's best Christmas photo

Have you ever noticed that the most creative photographs with babies are taken when they are sleeping? That’s why I tell you this is one of the tricks moms can use the most when they want a nice baby picture for the Christmas season.

Let’s use the decoration to leave a memory of our baby’s first Christmas using these simple tricks.

1. Think about lighting

To take a good Christmas photo, we must consider that  the best lighting you can have in these cases is natural light. A trick to make images more emotional is to take advantage of the dawn or dusk light because it is a light lighting.

2. No light in the face

To prevent the baby from closing his eyes, it  is necessary that during the photo session there is no light from the front,  whether from the sun, camera flash or any artificial light.

This also helps so that the image is not backlit. It is recommended to place the baby in the shade, but where there is still adequate lighting.

3. Take lots of photos to choose from

We’re not always going to get the best shot the first time. Sometimes it is necessary to try more than once. Don’t be discouraged and take as many photos as possible. We also recommend that you  edit on your computer to improve small details.

4. Frame carefully

It is common to try to leave the baby in the center of the image, as it is the most important in the photo. But  there are many ways to get beautiful photos if we focus on other details.

We can get very original images by framing other elements; for example, put a garland in the little one’s hands and focus on them. The trick to photographing the details is to do this while your baby sleeps.

5. Choose the right day to take the Christmas photo

It is common to see photos in the snow where it appears to be more blue than white, or in the case of those in the southern hemisphere, a photo with the sun disturbing and not helping. Therefore, it is  recommended to choose a slightly cloudy day. Remember, it’s always best to use ambient light. So, it’s best to consider the level of sun illumination.

An additional trick is to focus on the baby’s face and  place it in the shade.

6. Always have a camera on hand

Lots of spaces are perfect for a nice Christmas photo, so it’s always good to have a camera ready. If your baby has already started walking and exploring, it is possible that he will give you the opportunity to photograph him in an interesting pose.

Many say that candid photographs are more original and beautiful. So, to improve the opportunities, give your baby a Christmas detail to stay at home:  a pajamas, a hat or some accessory, so you can enjoy the decoration of your home and be able to portray a very typical scenario of the end of the year.

7. Auto focus

One of the main mistakes in photos by people with less experience in art is the lack of focus. To prevent images from blurring, we recommend setting the camera to auto mode.

If the preference is still for the manual mode, we suggest that the peripheral details are discarded and  only the center of the pose is focused .

But  if there is movement around the center of the image, coming from lights or some Santa Claus dancer, it is recommended to turn on the  automatic mode to take a beautiful Christmas picture of your baby.

8. Compatibility between background and clothing

It is common that sometimes the background is confused with the clothes, which is why the traditional white background is often used. But as it’s Christmas,  no one wants to lose the colorful environments. In this sense, it ‘s good to pay attention that the baby’s clothes don’t have prints similar to the background we want to wear. It is also not recommended to wear the typical blue and pink clothing.

Think bright, traditional colors to make your baby stand out during the Christmas season. Green, red, gold and white are excellent options to match the Christmas details without competing with them when taking a beautiful Christmas picture of your baby.
