1. Timbiriche

To start playing  Timbiriche , it is necessary to draw a matrix of dots on the paper, which will serve as a board, although it is also possible to simply use a grid sheet.

One at a time, players (2 to 4 people) must join two consecutive dots by drawing a horizontal or vertical line (never diagonal), trying to form small squares.

As soon as one of the players manages to close a square, he must write his initial, indicating that this square belongs to him. When it is no longer possible to make squares, the game is over.

Then, an overall count is made and the player who managed to conquer the most squares wins. This game promotes attention, concentration and mental alertness.

2. Stop or Adedanha, one of the best games with pencil and paper

For this game, each participant must draw a horizontal table on a sheet of paper. At the top of this table, the different categories previously selected should be indicated , for example: proper names, countries, colors, animals and objects.

Then a letter from the alphabet is chosen at random. The objective of the game is to  complete, in the shortest time possible, each category with a word that starts with the letter in question. The first player who manages to complete all the categories must shout “Stop” or “ Adedanha”.

When this happens, all other participants must drop the pencil and the scores are counted:

  • 10 points for words written in a category that have not been written by another player.
  • 5 points for words repeated by multiple players.
  • 0 point when the category is not completed or if an incorrect word is written.

This same procedure is repeated with the different letters of the alphabet until all the rows in the table are completed. When the game ends, whoever has the most points in the final score wins. This game allows you to work on graphomotricity, memory, attention and mental agility.

3. Force

This simple and classic game consists of guessing a word, expression or phrase from different letters that are chosen in each player’s turn. However, care must be taken as, to achieve this goal, there is a limited number of attempts.

To start the game, one of the participants must draw a line of dashes on a sheet of paper, counting a dash for each letter of the word, expression or phrase.

Also, on the side, he must draw a gallows. Then, one by one, the other players will say the chosen letters to try to find out what is written hidden in these dashes. Thus:

  • If a letter that belongs to the word, expression or phrase is chosen, it must be written in the corresponding dash.
  • If a letter is chosen that is not part of the word, expression or phrase, a part of a doll must be added just below the gallows drawn above.

One of the players needs to guess the word, expression or phrase written before the drawing of the puppet is completed, with its arms, legs, head, etc. This game serves to develop writing, attention, fine motor skills, communication and language.

Did you like any of these games? So, what are you waiting for? Grab a pencil and paper now and start playing with the whole family without leaving the house!
